DevCom + EtherNet = Easy Remote Access with HART IP

 

 

The HART® Protocol was enhanced in 2012 to include the transmission of HART data over the Internet Protocol (IP) using Transmission Communication Protocol (TCP).  HART-IP is simply the HART protocol rendered over Ethernet. The addition of HART-IP capability to HART host applications provides a quick and easy way to configure, monitor and diagnose HART devices on WirelessHART networks.  HART Device communications can be wireless if the plant has a Wi-Fi network in place. HART-IP device access then removes the need to go onto the plant floor to view or change the configuration of a device. "We just installed a good-sized biofuel project with 600-700 instruments and valves, and expanded another biofuel plant with 1,200-1,400 instruments and valves, and we thought there had to be a better way than the outdated, 15-pound, $6,000-$7,000 handheld we'd been using to program, test and commission HART valves, check instruments and do loop checks," says Peter Love, senior systems engineer for automation at Kice. February 16 is Chinese New Year (aka Spring Festival).  2018 is the year of the Dog. The Dog is also associated with the Earthly Branch (地支—dì zhÄ«) xÅ« (戌), and the hours 7–9 in the evening. In the terms of yin and yang (阴阳—yÄ«n yáng), the Dog is yang.  In China, a popular Dog name is Wàng Cái (旺财). It means “prosperous wealth” and comes from dogs’ barking sounds (旺旺—wàng wàng).  Here's to a year of health and prosperity in the year of the Dog!
