Evoqua Water Technologies uses DevCom2000, our PC-based HART Communicator continues to save cost and increases functionality.  The problem: Evoqua Water Technologies builds water and wastewater treatment system that are deployed all over the world. They are controlled by Industrial automation systems using HART based instrumentation. Commissioning and servicing these systems require a staff of field service engineers each needing tools to configure HART devices. Providing Handheld Communicators to each field service engineer is costly, requires frequent batteries charging, and the engineers have to carry an additional bulky piece of equipment on the job site.

Remote Access with HART IP

The HART® Protocol was enhanced in 2012 to include the transmission of HART data over the Internet Protocol (IP) using Transmission Communication Protocol (TCP).  HART-IP is simply the HART protocol rendered over Ethernet. The addition of HART-IP capability to HART host applications provides a quick and easy way to configure, monitor and diagnose HART devices on WirelessHART networks.  HART Device communications can be wireless if the plant has a Wi-Fi network in place. HART-IP device access then removes the need to go onto the plant floor to view or change the configuration of a device.
